Short Service Non-Technical Serial 2 Course was trained in Officers Training School, Madras, (now Chennai) wef 20Jun 66. It passed out on 23 April 67. The Course attained 'glory' within Army, outside in Civil Services-IAS, IFS, IPS and Allied Services, and in the Corporate World. We wish to reminiscence our journey of life through this Blog ... Sukhi.
Just read about Berry's passing away.
I have not met any members of his family but we were together during YO's Course at EME School, Baroda. He was V K Rishi's room mate. Very fond memories of those days April - December 1967!
Others from EME will remember when Berry fiddled with a 75 mm pack howitzer! He accidentally moved the barrel lock catch, and the barrel came on to him. The poor fellow could not take the weight, kept shouting for help and the others were all laughing! I can clearly see his hands cupped between his legs holding the barrel! Many other stories like Ramesh Pandey pulling Berry's Lanyard.
I suppose we are all nearing the stage, I only hope that he went without pain and suffering and that he is at peace wherever he is. We pray for the peace and happiness of the Family.

Dear Sukhi,
I got the information of Subash Berry's passing away from the Course Blog, and Channi Narula's mail to you on Berry.
It is the second shock in a week- first Raji and now our Berry. Those of us from EME cannot forget Berry. He was a very lively person- always had a joke to tell. Later, when he took premature retirement and moved to Bhopal, we came in close touch with him and his family as I was in the Government of Madhya Pradesh. The private nursery school that he and his wife started did very well and soon there was a clamour among service class to put their children in Mr. Berry's school. We would often get requests from our friends in Bhopal to put in a word to Mr. Berry for their kids and Berry always obliged. Soon they had a number of schools all over Bhopal. He would very often invite me to be the chief guest for the school functions, which were always very well organised. We are going to miss him badly once we move back to Bhopal.
May God give his family members strength to bear with the loss.

Dear Sukhi,
News of Raji comes as a shock. I am one of the few that attended his wedding. We even had a dinner for Raji and Dolly in Chandigarh after their wedding. When I was with Delhi Administration 1977-79, we visited their house in Jangpura. I did not have any occasion to meet him in the last twenty years. He was very helpful to friends. Please convey out heartfelt condolences to the family.

Capt & Mrs VK Berry's ( Later in Customs Wireless) Condolences: 22 May 2009.
It is pretty hard to believe such happenings to fellow brethren, but that is the hardest fact of life too.
The remembrance of Rajji takes me to the OTS days, how totally unknown people had become so close and concerned for each other. His lively talks I shall always carry with me. Probably no words can be sufficient to say and pray for such an occasion of grief.
I pray God for peace to his soul and courage to his bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss------Berry V K (Kohima)

Mrs Kavita and JC Sharma's Condolences: 24 May 2009
Dear Sukhi,
I had heard unconfirmed reports about Raji's death. He was bold and helpful. I stayed with him twice in Gauhati where he was posted along with our other course mate Gangopadyaya of ASC. He was a warm host and puled all spots to look after you.
We met couple of times in Delhi.I attended his daughter's wedding at NSCI. Presence of many VIPs indicated his popularity.
My sincere condolences to the Family.
